This total control home handheld remote can control every electronic device in one’s home (depending upon installed options). It would replace the phone, and a host of other remotes such as TV, DVR, DVD and stereo. It contains a mouse that can control a computer screen connected via a TV as a monitor. It was designed to control channels and volume of TVs, DVDs and stereos; turn on/off lights, outlets, bring up close-circuit TV of the babies room or front door.
The electronics were encased in a snap-together plastic enclosure with easy access to the battery. The keypad provided for making phone calls or accessing TV channels, changing selection of the DVD player and more. There were hard-keys for controlling computer, guide, music, home, etc., plus eight programmable soft-keys. This elastomeric keypad was compression molded. The rest of the enclosure and display protective lens were injection molded.
The company was quickly purchased by NETGEAR shortly after introduction to the consumer market.
